Ethics Agreement

The purpose of this statement is to inform all Administrator’s, Officer’s, Committee and/or Staff individuals of the security and confidentially requirements of the information that they may have accesses to on the District IV Website. It is not meant to reflect negatively on anyone’s performance, nor does it imply that anyone filling any of these positions is suspected of any wrong doing.

As an individual filling an Administrator, Officer, Committee and/or Staff position, you have an obligation to safeguard the records entrusted to you and this document is to remind you of the security, confidentiality and ethics requirements for any individual filling such a position.

As an Administrator, Officer, Committee and/or Staff individual having such access on the District IV Website, I will:

  1. Represent the interests of all people served by this organization, and not favor special interests inside or outside of this organization.

  2. Not use my position as an Administrator, Officer, Committee and/or Staff individual for personal advantage or for the advantage of my friends or associates.

  3. Keep confidential information confidential.

  4. Do nothing to violate the trust of those who elected or appointed me to the Administrator, Officer, Committee or Staff position or of those we serve.

  5. Never exercise authority as an Administrator, Officer, Committee and/or Staff individual except when acting as I am delegated by the organization that elected or appointed me.

  6. Ensure that any disclosure made is in fact made only to those individuals having a legitimate need to know in the course of their Official duties.

  7. Consult with a higher authority, i.e. Association President, State President, State Registrar, State RMC Committee Member, etc., prior to taking any action when in doubt whether such action is in conformance with privacy and confidentiality standards.

  8. Disclose personal information about an individual only with the written consent or at the written request of the individual to whom it pertains.
