NSYSA Code of Conduct Agreement

The following expectations are associated with all Board of Directors (BOD) events and activities, whether in-person or digitally, on behalf of NSYSAsoccer.org. By participating in a BOD meeting or event, YOU ( ) are indicating that you have read, understand, and agree to the following items.

  1. NSYSA and I ( ) agree to the terms and conditions of this Code of Conduct agreement regarding my involvement with the NSYSA BOD, and this website ("NSYSAsoccer.org"). Indicate your acceptance of this agreement by clicking the "I Accept" button at the end. Acceptance of this agreement will have the same enforceability as an originally signed paper version.

  2. I understand that the goal of (NSYSA) is to provide an organizational framework between US Youth Soccer (USYS), Washington Youth Soccer (WYS), US Club, and our member clubs to help promote youth soccer in the counties in which our member clubs participate.
  3. I will be an advocate for all kids.  Therefore, I will support all programs that are offered by NSYSA and its member clubs.
  4. I agree to understand and abide by the NSYSA By-laws, rules, and policies of NSYSA, and will assist with making changes as needed or directed.
  5. I will complete Risk Management Assessment (RMA) as required including but not limited to a Background Check, SafeSport, and Intro to Safety.
  6. I will attend all regular Board Meetings, as provided for in the NSYSA By-laws in Article II Section E.2: Absence from three (3) consecutive meetings of the BOD without prior notification may be subject to removal from the BOD
  7. I understand that failing to perform the requirements of my position as described in the NSYSA By-laws may result in a vote for my removal by the BOD.
  8. I will perform all tasks assigned to me in a timely matter and report back to the BOD as requested.
  9. I will abide by all NSYSA Codes of Conduct, policies, and procedures.
  10. As a member of the BOD, I recognize that I represent NSYSA and all its programs.  Therefore, I will act in accordance with all and will set an example for others to follow.
  11. I (as a NSYSAsoccer.org participant) agree that I will maintain my  Profile with current contact information including, but not limited to, my mailing address, telephone number(s), and email address(es).
  12. I will support the efforts of all BOD participants both elected, appointed, and contracted and will provide assistance as needed, directed, or requested.  
  13. I will recognize that as a member of the BOD, I am a part of a team.  I will always set aside personal differences that I may have with other members. I will strive to work for the benefit of all youth which NSYSA and its member clubs serve.
  14. I recognize that I hold this position for the benefit of our youth and their families, and not to serve my own interests, or for self-recognition.
  15. When making decisions at the board level, I will recuse myself in all decisions that are or may be perceived as conflicts of interest.
  16. I will never use my position as a board member for my own personal gain, or for the personal gain of my family members or friends.
  17. I recognize that I am here to help create a community of goodwill and make a positive impact on our youth. I will focus on service.
  18. I will treat others with respect, by allowing them to express their ideas and concerns in an orderly manner. I will not be rude, overbearing, argumentative or use inappropriate language. I will not initiate actions that do not align with the promotion  of community goodwill within our organization.
  19. I understand that it is a privilege to serve on the NSYSA BOD.  I further understand that if I violate this Code of Conduct. My violations will be communicated to me and reviewed by the remainder of the BOD in a session not including BOD members that could have a possible conflict of interest. I will be given an opportunity to respond to the alleged violations before the session. If the BOD finds by a majority vote of the members present that I have violated this code of conduct, I will be notified within 24 hours by the NSYSA president. I will receive the following consequences unless the circumstances warrant other actions

  caution  A.     First Offense – A written apology will be issued to the BOD and/or to any individual (s), team (s), or leagues that may be impacted. This written apology will be submitted via the NSYSA secretary no later than seven days from the notification of violation. A First Offense will be recorded in the NSYSA minutes and will be in effect for a full year (365) days from issuance. 

  sendoff  B.     Second Offense – Position on BOD will be terminated as provided for in the by-laws.

20.This document will be signed prior to assuming an elected or appointed BOD position, at the beginning of every calendar year, or when any changes occur. Voting privileges will be dependent on this signature.

21. By clicking the “I Accept” button and/or signing below I understand that this Code of Conduct is in effect for one year unless rescinded by written instruction to the NSYSA BOD.
